About Arts Alive Ipswich

What is Arts Alive Ipswich?
Arts Alive has been established by Ipswich resident, Suzanne Matulich, who has worked extensively in the Ipswich arts community, recently as Community Liaison Coordinator with the Ipswich Art Gallery and also as a committee member of both the Ipswich Arts Council and Ipswich Little Theatre. Suzanne is also an active member of various arts and theatre groups through Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Suzanne is a qualified, registered teacher in the state of Queensland with a wide knowledge of the arts world. All other teachers working for Arts Alive Ipswich are also qualified and experienced art teachers and they all hold a blue card issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardians.

(Under the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act (2000), people who work with children under 18 years of age, in certain categories of employment, must apply for a criminal history check – the Working with Children Check.)

Mission statement
To empower students of all ages to take ideas from within themselves and give them artistic form. The Arts Alive Ipswich focus is on a process-oriented art experience. While providing instruction in the use of art materials and techniques, our teachers guide students through the process of creating, in an effort to elicit and support each person’s individual style of visual expression.
