Arts Alive offers ongoing arts workshops each term.
Adult term arts classes are held in the evening or afternoon to suit people who are either employed (fully or part time) or retired.
Children's term arts classes are held after school and the Saturday Kidzart Club is held on four Saturday mornings each term for those who can't commit to weekly classes.
Short workshops and other arts activities are also programmed. If you are interested in these ask to be put on our database so you will be among the first to know.
Our teachers are all qualified, professional and experienced and are committed to encouraging students to unleash their own creativity with strong skill development in a friendly supportive environment.
In 2004 Suzanne Matulich, founding director of Arts Alive, saw the need for a private art school in Ipswich, which would offer ongoing arts tuition for both adults and children in a supportive and creative environment.
And so Arts Alive Ipswich was brought into life. It was first located in heritage premises in Ellenborough Street. However, when the building was sold and no suitable premises could be found, the school went into recess.
And the good news is, the current studio premises, at Shop 3 /5 Jacaranda Street, East Ipswich, were leased in 2013 and Arts Alive was re-established.
These studios are on ground level - no steps! There is a shop front gallery and behind that, two airy, spacious studios. At the back is a storage area which doubles as clean up 'wet' area and a great open space behind the building. The studios are easily reached by car and buses go past the door or the East Ipswich railway station is only a short walk away.
The programs offered by Arts Alive have been developed in response to requests from our students and we are always very happy to listen to new ideas for either term classes or weekend workshops.
As the class sizes are deliberately kept small to ensure strong student /teacher ratios, we only need you and three friends wanting a specific class/workshop for it to be able to go ahead.

"Without the new skills, confidence and supportive development of our arts practice which we gained at Arts Alive, we would not have been able to have our very successful exhibition at the Ipswich Community Gallery."
